Be Verb-এর পর যদি কোন Verb বসে, তবে তা সব সময় Verb-এর Past Participle Form (v3) বা Present Participle Form (v4) হবে।
- Be Verb: am, is, are, was, were, be, been, being
- Past Participle: verb-এর 3rd form, যেমন: written, gone, eaten
- Present Participle: verb-এর ing form, যেমন: writing, going, eating
বাংলা ক্রিয়াহীন বাক্যে am / is / are ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Dhaka is an old city.
- The sky is blue.
- Man is mortal.
- Water is no color.
- We are friends.
কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর “পরিচয়” ও “অবস্থা” বোঝাতে am / is / are ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- I am a student at the local school.
- She is my best friend from university.
- He is the manager of this shop.
- We are drained after the long journey.
- They are excited about their upcoming holiday.
কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু কোথাও “আছে” বোঝাতে am / is / are ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- The book is on the shelf.
- She is in the living room.
- There are two apples on the table.
- My car is in the garage.
- The children are in the playground.
কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু কোথাও “ছিল” বোঝাতে was / were ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- I was in the classroom during the break.
- They were at the football ground yesterday evening.
- She was in the kitchen all morning.
- We were at the bus stop when it started raining.
- The keys were on the table a few minutes ago.
ক্রিয়ার শেষে “হয়” বা “যায়” থাকলে am / is / are + v3 হয়।
- She is seen on TV very often.
- Water is used in various works.
- Tigers are seen in the Sundarban.
- The windows are cleaned once a month.
- Cars are driven on the left side in Bangladesh.
ক্রিয়ার শেষে “হল / হয়েছিল / হত / যেত” থাকলে was / were + v3 হয়।
- The boy was sent to Dhaka.
- Karim was given a prize.
- They were given punishment.
- This post office was used to send letters.
- Various kinds of birds were seen in this forest.
